A highway call starts with location, not a city name. Send a GPS pin or mile marker, direction of travel, closest exit or named road, vehicle description, and destination. If the vehicle left the pavement, add photos showing the shoulder, slope, snow, mud, and available stopping room.
We use a light-duty flatbed for compatible cars, SUVs, pickups, motorcycles, and ATVs. A normal breakdown tow and a winch-out are estimated separately because recovery access, rigging, and time change the work.
Call or text first when you are stranded. The booking form is best for a vehicle that is already secure or a move that can be scheduled.
What this covers
- Flatbed towing for road-accessible highway breakdowns
- Shallow-ditch, snowbank, and shoulder recovery after photo review
- Glenn, Parks, Palmer-Wasilla, and Knik-Goose Bay corridors
Do not stand in a travel lane to take photos. Contact emergency services first when the scene is unsafe or involves a collision.
Remote, deep-mud, and inaccessible recoveries may require a trusted recovery partner.
All pricing shown is estimate-only. Final pricing depends on route, access, actual conditions, and service complexity.
DOT: 7906395
Glenn Highway
The Glenn Highway connects Anchorage and Eagle River with the Mat-Su, then continues through Palmer toward Sutton, Chickaloon, Glacier View, and Glennallen. For a divided-highway call, the direction and nearest exit matter. East of Palmer, mile markers and named roadside landmarks become more useful than a broad town name.
Tell us whether the vehicle is on pavement, behind a plow berm, in a shallow ditch, or below road grade. The flatbed must have firm stopping room and a safe winch direction. A precise location and clear scene photos help us confirm whether our equipment is suited to the call.
Parks Highway
The Parks Highway runs through Wasilla, Houston, and Willow before continuing north. Send the mile marker and northbound or southbound direction. Around Willow, Alaska DOT's local maintenance coverage spans mile 52 through mile 99, so a milepost is far more precise than a general Willow location.
Shoulder width and snow storage vary along the corridor. Photos should show the lane edge and enough surrounding road for us to judge whether loading can happen without putting the truck or customer in an unsafe position.
Palmer-Wasilla Highway
Palmer-Wasilla Highway connects the Glenn side of Palmer with the Parks side of Wasilla. Give the nearest crossroad or business entrance because a street address alone may not show which driveway or side of the divided traffic flow is usable for a rollback.
This corridor commonly supports local shop drops and flatbed transport between the two cities. A vehicle off the road still needs a recovery review even when the destination is only a few miles away.
Knik-Goose Bay Road
Knik-Goose Bay Road leaves the Wasilla corridor and runs roughly 20 miles toward Goose Bay Airport. Alaska DOT identifies it as a designated safety corridor. Send the closest named road, mile marker if available, and a pin; do not rely on a Wasilla mailing address for a roadside location.
Traffic, limited stopping room, soft shoulders, and winter berms can change the recovery plan. We confirm safe access from photos before accepting a winch-out along this route.
How collision damage changes the highway load
After law enforcement releases the scene, the loading review starts with the parts that still move. A wheel folded under the body, collapsed suspension, jammed steering, a transmission that will not release, or loose bodywork can turn a normal winch-on into a slower controlled load. Send close photos of every damaged wheel and one full side view before the truck is dispatched.
Vehicle position matters as much as damage. Note whether it remains on pavement, faces with or against traffic, rests below the shoulder, sits behind a guardrail, or needs to be pulled around another obstacle. A vehicle that must first be brought back to firm roadway is quoted as recovery work before transport mileage is added.
Questions about highway towing
What should I send when I am stranded on a highway?
Send a GPS pin or mile marker, travel direction, nearest exit or road, vehicle description, destination, and photos of the shoulder or ditch when it is safe to take them.
Do you tow east of Palmer on the Glenn Highway?
Yes, qualifying calls toward Sutton, Chickaloon, Glacier View, and farther east are quoted individually for distance, weather, vehicle condition, access, and destination.
Is a snowbank pull billed like a normal tow?
No. Recovery time, rigging, snow depth, slope, and distance from firm pavement affect the estimate before any separate towing mileage or destination work.
